Who and what got you involved in CrossFit?
I first got involved in Crossfit roughly 2 years ago when my brother needed something to compliment his boxing train. It looked cool and I wanted to give it a try so I did. I went 2-3 times a week for a Kids class and my love for the sport has expanded to the point where it has become what I want to do for the rest of my life.
What is your number one philosophy you live by?
My number one philosophy I live by is to follow my community’s Ethos and be the best version of myself. With my training, with my school, with my friends and family. I want to leave myself a legacy.
What has been the highlight of your CrossFit career?
My current highlight of my Crossfit Career is placing 9th worldwide in the Open. Hopefully big things to come.
Who is your biggest inspiration in and outside of the gym?
I have so many amazing coaches that I look up to and have so much respect for. My main three are Rosie, Gareth and Emma. I also have so much respect for all the athletes in our Sport. They are all incredible in their own special ways and I admire each and everyone one.
At home, my biggest inspiration is my family. All hard-working and I hope to follow in their footsteps.
What is your ultimate goal in CrossFit?
My ultimate Crossfit Goal is to go to the Crossfit Games and just help people become the best version of themselves.
What advice would you give to females starting to get into CrossFit?
Trust the process, listen to your body and just enjoy the community. The community of Crossfit is honestly what makes it so special. You don’t have to be incredibly fit, you just have to be willing to try your best.
What was an obstacle you had to overcome?
I’ve had to over-come so issues with myself much more than anything. I get so wrapped up into negative thoughts sometimes and Crossfit has helped so much being my release from that. It has made me so much happier and I can’t wait to show others what it could do for them.
What advice to you give to women when they’re afraid to workout because they don’t want to bulk?
I honestly think people who say bulky girls aren’t okay are way to stuck in the past. But then again, I may be a little bias on this opinion. Your muscles represent all your hard-work so you should be proud of them. I say, don’t care what people say and do what is right for your body. No matter what. You are beautiful.
What is your favourite movement and lift?
Burpees (I know, I’m a sicko) and favourite lift, deadlift or clean and jerk.
